JOB SUMMARY: The person employed in this capacity will perform his/her duties under the direction of the City Engineer. The primary duties consist of assisting the City Engineer and other departments in matters concerning traffic, construction, development, erosion control and drainage.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Review commercial site plans for compliance to regulations.
- Review subdivision plats for compliance with applicable ordinances and regulations.
- Respond to complaints regarding street, environmental and drainage problems from citizens, other departments and officials.
- Coordinate/assist with various surveying projects.
- Identify and present engineering recommendations to the Planning Commission on proposed developments.
- Perform minor traffic studies and/or traffic counts as necessary.
- Prepare contract documents for road, bridge and traffic signal projects that are planned within the department. Review contracts for projects designed by consulting firms for roads, bridges and traffic signal projects.
- Prepare estimates for project costs.
- Monitor, inspect and coordinate commercial construction activities.
- Review, coordinate and approve road closure requests.
- Review and inspect compliance of the American with Disabilities Act regulations for improvements to City rights-of-way and facilities.
- Coordinate activities with the Traffic Sign Staff.
- Coordinate work with consulting Engineering firms on traffic signals and road improvements.
- Design and coordinate traffic signal and road improvement projects with JEA, Traffic Sign Department and Street Department.
- Rate streets for resurfacing projects.
- Assist in preparation of operating and capital budgets for street, traffic signal and drainage projects.
- Attend pre-construction conferences for road, signal and drainage projects.
- Serve as a liaison to Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

JOB SUMMARY: The person employed in this capacity will perform his/her duties under the supervision of the Director or Street Maintenance Supervisor. This person is required to perform heavy and light manual work using a variety of routine and common hand tools and hand equipment. This person will also operate light or heavy automotive equipment, tractors and other light machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently. This person is required to work safely and efficiently as well as perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

JOB SUMMARY: The person employed in this capacity will perform his/her duties under the direction of the Director of the Jackson Animal Care Center. The person will be responsible for providing compassionate, attentive care to the animals at all times, maintain a clean and healthy environment for the animals and the public, and assist with adoptions and facility events as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to the cleaning protocols for animal care, kennel maintenance, sanitation, parasite and disease control and other animal care practices within the policies and guidelines of the Jackson Animal Care Center. This includes daily thorough cleaning of all animal areas, including canine runs, feline areas, floors, dishes, bedding and restrooms etc.
- Responsible for maintaining the animal housing areas and shelter as a whole in a clean and sanitary condition. This includes spot cleaning of animal and public areas throughout the day.
- Monitor the health and wellness of the animals and identify any health problems or conditions (medical or behavioral) and immediately report to management.
- Feed animals, routinely handle, medicate, and vaccinate animals, socialize with the animals, and groom animals in a professional and humane way.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum offices, halls and other areas of the center.
- Wash/dry/fold laundry as needed.
- Clean and wash windows as needed.
- Maintain neatness of building grounds.
- Maintain building and equipment by performing minor and routine maintenance.

The Seasonal Turf Specialist will perform all duties required to maintain a sand base and Bermuda grass fields at the Jackson Ballpark. Must be available to work Nights, Weekends and on Holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to follow instructions from Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Perform skilled/manual work functions related to Sports Turf management practices.
- Responsible for maintenance of high-quality equipment in order to extend the useful life to minimize repair and replacement cost.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of the playing surface, pregame field prep, batting practice, and irrigation.
- Open and close, lock and unlock facilities as needed.
