Neighborhood Academy

Overview

Neighborhood Academy is a seven-month program for the City of Jackson residents. Participants will meet twice a month and each meeting will focus on different areas of local government and how residents can participate in city processes. It will serve as a way to build trust and empower residents to influence city decisions, programs, and policies. By the end, new neighborhood champions across the city will know how to effect change.

Commitment

Neighborhood Academy will begin in April. It will be two two-hour sessions per month until October when we will hold the closing session and graduation.

The meetings will be on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month; the preference of the majority of our applicants will determine the time. A tentative schedule is below. Applicants must attend eight of the ten sessions to complete the program.
