General Investigations is commanded by

The General Investigations Bureau (GIB) has two Sergeants and eight Investigators on staff.
The GIB investigates crimes against property, including, but not limited to, residential, commercial and automobile burglary and thefts of or from property including vehicles.
GIB will handle organized crime involving monetary profit and major fraud.
GIB will handle extradition on fugitive arrests generated by the Patrol Division and provide technical assistance on fugitive arrests generated by other specialized Units.
Organized Crime Unit
Responsible for special investigations involving organized theft, disrupting stolen property markets, pawn/scrap compliance operations, fraud and vice operations, employee theft, identity theft and felony shoplifting. The Organized Crime Unit will also handle counterfeiting and any criminal simulation not originating from an automobile or residential burglary.
Preliminary Investigations Unit(PIU)
Responsible for the initial investigations of many misdemeanor crimes of theft and crimes against persons. PIU is also responsible for the investigation of missing persons and runaway juveniles
